List of available Project topics (2012-2013):
- Study on the use and integration of cloud services in public
administration. The work consists in studying the policies
of the European Commission on cloud and web services in order to create
a questionnaire for the public administration. Then you need to
administer the questionnaire to the largest number of public
administrations in the Province of Bolzano and analyse the
results. The research goal is: understand the needs of cloud
services in PA and Understand the alignment between the needs and the EU
policies. The work will require also to prioritize the requirements for
cloud services.
- Study on software testing. Here you will review the literature
on software testing. Determine the lack of knowledge and propose an
experiment or an analysis of software testing methods OSS
communities. Finally, you might apply your method to one-two OSS
projects. The research question is: Understand and improve testing
methods in OSS projects.
- Starting from mining Google chromium repositories, you will analyze
developers communication and ability in bug fixing. Research
questions are: Understand trust among developers in fixing bugs.
Characterize the ability of developers in fixing bugs. You may eventual
study the learning depreciation of developers in OSS community
- Mining log files to understand application's use. Log files
report of events on application status. Understanding when a set of
events cause a failure of the overall system is of primary importance
for managers. In this study you will analyze a concrete case of a system
and its log files and determine the characteristics of sequences of
events that lead to system failure.
