Gerhard Glüher
Art historian, curator, author
Gerhard Glüher (* 1958) teaches Design Theory and Terminology at the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano. After having been trained as designer at the University of Applied Science in Würzburg, he obtained a Ph.D. in art history, philosophy and Slavonic studies at the Philipps-Universität Marburg. In 2007 postdoctoral habilitation on “Enquiring expressions and visual languages of new media within contemporary arts ”. Freelance activity as curator, critic and author. Director of “art-mentor” (Marburg), a consulting agency dedicated to new media and contemporary art. Subsidiary professor and lectureships in Koblenz, Wiesbaden, Saarbrücken, Schwäbisch Hall, Würzburg, Innsbruck and Weimar. Numerous monographs, essays and exhibition catalogues. At present he is preparing a monograph concerning process-related art and generative design.

Siegfried Gronert
Art and design historian, curator
Siegfried Gronert (* 1946) teaches Design Theory and History at the
Faculty of Design of the Bauhaus University, in Weimar. He studied at the
Werkkunstschule Krefeld, the University of Cologne and the University
College in London (Ph.D.). From 1982 to 1993 curator of exhibitions
and Assistant Professor at several universities. Since 1993
Professor of Design Theory and History at Weimar. Numerous
publications and essays, amongst others: Das Modell als Denkbild (2005),
Horst Michel - DDR Design (2002-04), Umweltzeichen global (1999),
Wilhelm Braun-Feldweg (1998), Türdrücker der Moderne (1991).
At present he is working on guidelines for the scientific accessibility of
Horst Michel’s inheritance. Furthermore, he is collaborating at the
realization of a Ph.D. course in Art and Design.
