Takaaki Bando (*1957), is a professor of Science of Design at Musashino Art University in Tokyo. He was a guest professor at Schwäbisch Gmünd University of Applied Arts and Bremen University of Applied Arts.

1985 he founded his design firm Takaaki Bando Design Inc. Among others he was a designer for Justsystem, Tokushima Modern Art Museum and Origin Co./Estic Co. He designed the European Airport Billboards for YKK Group and the Super Lightweight Single Dome with 6 m to 8.30 m in diameter. 2006 he designed the lighting system for Venus Fort in Tokyo.
