Multilingualism and interculturalism are the main characteristics of the Free University of Bozen - Bolzano. The five faculties with a high number of lecturers from abroad deal with subjects connected to economics, the natural sciences, technology, computer science, design and the social and educational worlds. Teaching and research at the University are based on
high quality standards and the faculties are part of
international networks.
This

Teaching and research at Unibz are characterised by a
trilingual approach; the languages of tuition for the vast majority of the degree programmes are English, German and Italian. An aim of the University is to foster its students’ proficiency in the three teaching languages both before and during their studies.

The second main site of the Free University of Bozen - Bolzano is in the charming town of Brixen/Bressanone. The
Faculty of Education in Brixen/Bressanone is the home of the
competence centre in social innovation and quality promotion in social professions. The Centre has the general scope of scientifically analyzing and evaluating the range of professional competences available in public and non-public social service agencies in the surrounding territory in an international context. Projects undertaken by the Centre promote the development of methods and social policies based on principles of social justice, equality and solidarity.
