Georg-Christof Bertsch, brand consultant and design catalyst (* 1959), since 1994 owner of BERTSCH.BRAND CONSULTANTS, Frankfurt/M. Clients include Commerzbank (Banking), Giesecke & Devrient (valuta and credit card printing house), Hengeler Mueller (international law firm). Having read art history at the Technical University in Berlin he
teaches design management at Bezalel Academy of Art & Design in Jerusalem and at Istanbul's Teknik Üniversitesi. His research focuses on participative and transdisciplinary perspectives of design, which he applies in his open source projects like watermapping Delhi (2007) or BUILD OR DIE - constructing survival (together with O. Vogt, since 2005) He has curated a vast number of exhibitions and conferences, e.g. Attitudes for the next Millennium, Aspen Co, 1996; (together with H. Höger). 1990-95 president of Design Horizonte Frankfurt. Since 1990 guest professor and visiting lecturer at Saarbrücken (HdbK), Madrid (Universidad Complutense), Berlin (KHB Weißensee), Düsseldorf (PBSA). Numerous books and magazine articles, e.g. SED Stunningn Eastern Design (1990), Euro Design Guide (1991). Publications include Die Zukunft der Stadt (1995), Design City (2005), V+W Design Matrix (2006). Vice president of städelschule portikus e.V.  Frankfurt (since 2005).
