The Centre of Research for Law and Economics was founded in 2007 and constitutes a group of researchers based at the FUB that works in law & economics and publishes in International and national law or economics journals.
In the Italian law & economics circles, this group of researchers is probably the most focused on law & economics research. The members of the CRELE have published extensively in international journals like the European Business and Organization Review (EBOR), the Company and Financial Law Review (ECFR), the Journal of Law and Economics, the American Law & Economics Review, as well as in Italian law journals.
The CRELE is now completing its research project on SME financing. The contributions will be published by the Italian publisher “il Mulino”. The CRELE has also organised several conferences, with international and Italian participants. Topics such as “Cases in securities litigation and corporate governance” (2007) and “European Capital Markets Law: Problems and Cases” (2009) were discussed at the more scientific level with international participants. Other topics such as “Controls in Corporations” or ‘Financing for SMEs” were covered in conferences in cooperation with local Lawyers and Accountants association or the Bank of Italy. In December 2010 the Centre hosted the annual conference of the “Italian Society on Law&Economics”
