Tourism Mobility Workshop 2015
Tourism Mobility and Behavior: A changing Lifestyle
Bruneck South Tyrol, ItalyOctober 6th - 11th 2015, Bruneck-Brunico, South Tyrol, Italy
A team of international scholars lead by Dr. Serena Volo will gather at the
Competence Centre in Tourism Management and Tourism Economics (TOMTE) @ the
Bruneck Campus of the Faculty of Economics, Free University of Bozen-Bolzano to investigate the rhythms of tourism mobility by integrating tourists’ space-time behavioural patterns.
The notion of contemporary tourism mobility embraces the perspective of production, consumption sharing and co-creating voluntary temporary mobility experiences. The prominent experiential dimension of tourism calls for specific research designs that can capture, describe and model visitors behaviors, modes, places and times of their maneuverability. Tourism studies show several areas of unfulfilled potential in both methodological approaches and theoretical framing of modern-day mobilities’ issues.
In Serena’s opinion “South Tyrol is a perfect natural laboratory to investigate tourism mobility with modern technologies and with challenging research questions”. Her international colleagues share the same opinion and from Italy, UK, Israel, Australia and USA they will join Serena for a first workshop which will be held in Bruneck from October 6th to 11th.
