Frank Barkow

Frank Barkow (*1957, M.Arch; B.Arch), architect; since 1993 he has, with Prof. Regine Leibinger, directed the Barkow Leibinger studio in Berlin. In 1982 he was awarded B.Arch. (Montana State University) and in 1990 M.Arch. (Harvard University, Cambridge); he is visiting professor at numerous Universities including 1990-92 Cornell University (Ithaca and Rome); 1995-98 Unit Master at the Architectural Association, London; 2005-06 State Academy of the Arts, Stuttgart. Barkow Leibinger is an international firm of architects with projects in Germany (Berlin, Freiburg, Ditzingen, Potsdam), USA (Frammington/Conn.), Switzerland (Grüsch) and Korea (Seoul).

  • 2010 AIA Institute Honor Awards for Architecture
  • 2009 DAM Preis für Architektur in Deutschland
  • 2009 3rd Annual R+D Award, 2008 AIA Institute Honor Award for Architecture
  • 2007 Marcus Prize for Architecture
  • 2007 red dot design award.
