Gerhard Glüher (*1958; Prof. Dr. phil. habil.) is a cultural scientist, art educator and publicist and Professor for Theories and Forms of Expression at the Faculty of Design and Art of the Free University of Bozen/Bolzano. Following his studies in design at the Fachhochschule Würzburg, he read art history, philosophy and Slavic studies at the Philipps-Universität Marburg where he received his doctorate (Dr. phil.). In 2007 he was awarded his postdoctoral lecture qualification on Untersuchungen zu Bildsprachen und Ausdrucksformen neuer Medien in der zeitgenössischen Kunst at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. He is a freelance art educator, curator, critic and publicist. He is director of art-mentor, a consulting agency for new media and contemporary art in Marburg. He has been a visiting professor and lecturer in Koblenz, Wiesbaden, Saarbrücken, Schwäbisch Hall, Würzburg, Innsbruck and Weimar, among others.
